Climeworks removes CO₂ from the air to fight global warming and protect future generations to come.

We develop, build and operate direct air capture (DAC) machines which capture CO₂ directly from the air. The captured carbon dioxide is removed from the air by safely storing it underground, permanently.

Your mission

Job description
  • Your mission at Climeworks is to actively support the Process Development team in various tasks related to testing facilities, operational plants and future projects.  

  • You will contribute to the assessment of the performance and energy efficiency of operational plants and feed back field learnings to R&D. 

  • You will participate in field testing at operational plants and support the team in analyzing the collected data and using it to improve our modelling capabilities.  

  • You will participate in the energy and process optimization of future plant designs and carry out sensitivity analysis of relevant parameters. 

  • You will support the definition and documentation of  KPIs for testing and operational facilities. 

  • You will assess performance KPIs of future sorbent materials under process-relevant conditions and contribute to the maturation of new sorbent technologies 

Your story

Requirements
  • You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, process engineering or chemical engineering (or equivalent). 

  • You are eager to learn new concepts, skills, and tools that you might need to complete your assignments.  

  • You are reliable, performance-driven, and maintain a structured working style. 

  • You thrive in both fast-paced team environments and when working independently.  

  • You are fluent in English. 

  • You have at least some experience with MATLAB or a similar language, additional programming skills (particularly Python) would be an advantage.  

  • You are available for a full-time 6-month internship, ideally starting in March/April 2025
