Climeworks removes CO₂ from the air to fight global warming and protect future generations to come.

We develop, build and operate direct air capture (DAC) machines which capture CO₂ directly from the air. The captured carbon dioxide is removed from the air by safely storing it underground, permanently.

Founded in 2009 by engineers, Christoph Gebald and Jan Wurzbacher, Climeworks was built with a mission to inspire 1 billion people to remove CO₂ from the air, and is now spearheading the DAC industry globally. Your mission

Job description
  • Your mission is to drive sales growth for the US financial and professional services sector and position Climeworks as the leading CDR company in the mind of our prospects to accomplish our mission to reach at least 1billion ton of CO2 removal by 2050.
  • You win key customers, aligned with the vertical goals.
  • You find new leads and opportunities.
  • You conduct outreach to discover new leads and opportunities.
  • You build a robust sales funnel and accelerate opportunity creation.
  • You focus on bringing ongoing sales discussions to a close.
  • You reach and nurture C-level relationships of high-priority accounts (CSO, CFO, CEO as priority).
  • You develop strategic relationships with top accounts and prospects.
  • You follow the global strategy regarding event attendance and industry alliances.

Your story

Requirements
  • You are a university graduate, and ideally, a degree in sustainability would be advantageous.
  • You have experience selling to the finance sector, insurance sector, and professional services (having worked in the financial sector yourself, preferably in the payments business such as Mastercard, Visa, American Express, is a plus).
  • You have a strong network within the financial sector in NY and the surrounding areas.
  • You have already closed large and complex sales deals exceeding $10 million.
  • You have enterprise sales experience of over 8 years.
  • You are an independent problem solver.
  • You have experience working in international organizations (knowledge of carbon markets, climate policy, etc., is a nice-to-have).

The salary range has been set by factors such as function, career level, and location and therefore may vary. The US base salary for this full-time position is typically $130,000-$160,000. Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. We use the recruitment process to determine your career level, job-related skills, and depth of experience to make an informed and fair salary offer.
