We’ve been alerted to scammers pretending to be from Climeworks, offering fake jobs. Employment scams are increasing as criminals use AI to steal money and personal information from unsuspecting job seekers. These scams often look convincing and can take forms such as:
Phishing emails: Emails that appear to be from Climeworks but contain malicious links or attachments.
Fake job postings: Job advertisements on unofficial websites or social media.
Impersonation of recruiters: Scammers posing as our recruiters to conduct fake interviews.
Requests for money or sensitive information: Demands for payments, bank account details, or other personal details.
Here's how to stay safe
Apply for jobs only through Climeworks’ official careers page.
Verify the recruiter's identity by checking their LinkedIn profile or contacting our HR department directly.
Be cautious of unsolicited job offers, text messages or emails from unknown senders.
Never provide financial information or make payments to secure a job. Climeworks will never ask for money during the recruitment process.
Fake recruiters will often email you from a personal email like @gmail.com or @yahoo.com. Our recruiters only use [email protected] email addresses.
Watch for poor grammar, unusual email addresses, or requests to communicate via personal email.
Don’t share personal details like your driver’s license or bank information upfront. If you share it, they might steal your identity.
If you’re unsure about a job offer, contact us using details from our website, not from the “recruiter.” Report suspected scams to us at [email protected] and notify authorities.
