Your mission

Job description
  • Your mission at Climeworks it to prepare, supervise and guide corrosion assessments and material selection studies for Climeworks’ Direct Air Capture (DAC) plants following company guidelines and standards.
  • You are responsible for the facility material specification for fit for purpose and the cost effective design
  • You provide guidance to external partners and EPC contractors throughout the project lifecycle by reviewing and providing input on metallurgy-related technical matters in the development of equipment and bulk material specifications and in the review of bid proposals for packages.
  • You support the EPC Engineering group to produce the FEED, detail design, fabrication, and construction deliverables.
  • You are part of the execution project team and support other engineering disciplines such as process and piping engineering, equipment design, facilities and systems for Direct Air Capture plants.
  • You will work on site at times to provide construction support when needed.

Your story

  • You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in materials and/or corrosion engineering, welding engineering or other equivalent engineering qualification.
  • You have at least 10 years of project experience in the refining, chemical, petrochemical or renewable energy sector.
  • You have extensive experience with material-related project deliverables such as material selection & corrosion control report, protective coating and painting specification, (thermal & cold) insulation specification, etc.
  • You possess a thorough understanding and knowledge of industry standards such as, but not limited to, API, ASME, NACE, ISO, and other relevant standards related to material, erosion/ corrosion, welding processes, thermal insulation etc.
  • You consider yourself a flexible, adaptable, and reliable person.
  • A driver's license is required for business travel that takes up to 10 – 20% of your work time. Furthermore, you must be eligible to travel and work in the USA for some time.
  • You are fluent in English. Any other language is considered a plus.
