Your mission
Job description
Your role: As CDR Intern for nature-based solutions at Climeworks, you’ll support the team to advance our nature-based carbon removal portfolio by conducting research, engaging with partners, and supporting strategic initiatives. This is a hands-on opportunity to shape the future of climate tech.
Evaluation & Documentation: You support the evaluation and documentation of nature-based carbon removal initiatives.
Research & Outreach: You assist with research and outreach to external partners and stakeholders.
Relationship Management: You help build and maintain relationships with project developers and collaborators.
Project Identification & Storytelling: You contribute to project identification and storytelling for client-facing materials.
Strategic Discussions: You participate in strategic discussions around the growth and prioritization of NbS efforts.
Process Coordination: You coordinate internal processes related to legal documentation and procurement systems.
Your story
Requirements
Education & Experience: You are currently enrolled in or have recently completed a master’s degree in environmental science, Sustainability, Climate Policy, or a related field, and have a strong interest in climate solutions and nature-based approaches.
Knowledge: You have foundational knowledge of carbon markets, nature-based solutions, or climate finance, and are motivated to expand your expertise in these areas.
Research & Analytical Skills: You possess strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex information and translate it into clear, actionable insights.
Organization & Efficiency: You are highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks independently and efficiently.
Relationship Building: You are confident in initiating outreach and building relationships with external stakeholders, including project developers and partners.
Communication Skills: You demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and can tailor your messaging to different audiences. Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
Availability: You are preferably available to start in January 2026.

What we offer:
At Climeworks, our six-month internships offer a hybrid work setup, giving you flexibility while ensuring valuable collaboration by working onsite at least three days per week. To maintain fairness, we follow a standardized salary process based on market benchmarks. For our internships based in Switzerland, the compensation is:
During BSc & MSc: CHF 2,000 per month
After completion of MSc: CHF 2,500 per month
