Your mission
Job description
Technology Development: You support the development of new technologies for Direct Air Capture (DAC) by analyzing various DAC approaches and contributing to early‑stage, in‑house technology innovation.
Testing Methods Development: You contribute to the development of methods and set-ups for technology testing and evaluation.
Data Analysis: You combine your fundamental understanding of technology with advanced data analytics.
System Impact Understanding: You understand the impact of individual technology components on the overall direct air capture process.
Safety and Compliance: You follow Climeworks’ safety rules, proactively communicate any identified risks to the department head, and take part in required safety training and exercises.

Requirements
Educational Background: You are currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
Interdisciplinary Thinking: You are an interdisciplinary thinker who enjoys working across different fields and thrives in a dynamic, start‑up‑like environment where circumstances and priorities can evolve quickly.
First‑Principles Problem Solving: You are enthusiastic about applying first‑principles thinking to break down complex challenges and develop practical, real‑world solutions.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration: You enjoy working at the interface between chemistry, process design, engineering, and industrialization.
Laboratory Operations & Prototyping: You are motivated to support hands-on laboratory or prototyping work.
Language Skills: You are fluent in English.

What we offer:
At Climeworks, our six-month internships offer a hybrid work setup, giving you flexibility while ensuring valuable collaboration by working onsite at least three days per week. To maintain fairness, we follow a standardized salary process based on market benchmarks. For our internships based in Switzerland, the compensation is:
During BSc & MSc: CHF 2,000 per month
After completion of MSc: CHF 2,500 per month
