Your mission
Job description
Sorbent Development: Your mission at Climeworks is to support the research and development of new sorbent materials for capturing CO2 from air.
Sorbent synthesis & characterization: Your work encompasses synthetic chemistry (organic and polymer), characterization and testing of sorbent materials, analyzing test results, and deriving conclusions for further development.
Data analytics: You combine your fundamental understanding of chemistry with data analytics.
Larger context: You understand the impact of the developed materials on the overall direct air capture process.
Safety: You respect Climeworks safety rules and communicate to the department head recognized risks and you participate in safety exercises and courses.
Your story
Requirements
Education/qualifications: You are currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry or Interdisciplinary Sciences.
Work experience: You bring hands-on experience in working in a chemical laboratory and have completed academic or industrial research projects.
Technical expertise: You are excited to use your deep knowledge of chemistry to solve real-world challenges.
Social competences: You are a team player with the ability to work in cross-functional teams and thrive in a start-up atmosphere with frequently changing circumstances.
Language: You are business fluent in English.

What we offer:
At Climeworks, our six-month internships. To maintain fairness, we follow a standardized salary process based on market benchmarks. For our internships based in Switzerland, the compensation is:
During BSc & MSc: CHF 2,000 per month
After completion of MSc: CHF 2,500 per month
