Climeworks Solutions launches compliance-ready carbon removal offering as policy advances

Expanded offering helps organizations source carbon removal portfolios aligned with evolving compliance frameworks including CORSIA, Article 6.2 mechanisms, and the EU Carbon Removal and Carbon Farming Certification Framework (CRCF).

Zurich, Switzerland | July 23rd, 2026 – Climeworks Solutions today announced an expanded offering designed to help organizations procure carbon removal portfolios aligned with specific compliance frameworks and regulatory requirements.

As carbon removal policies evolve around the world, organizations increasingly need support understanding which carbon removals fit specific regulatory frameworks and how requirements differ across jurisdictions. To meet this need, Climeworks Solutions has expanded its carbon removal portfolio offering with dedicated compliance expertise, framework-specific sourcing capabilities, and ongoing monitoring of policy developments.

The announcement comes as policymakers increasingly recognize the role carbon removals can play in achieving climate goals. Recent developments include the European Commission’s proposal to create a pathway for integrating permanent carbon removals into the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS), the continued implementation of the International Civil Aviation Organization’s (ICAO) Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA), and the growing use of Article 6.2 mechanisms under the Paris Agreement.

Climeworks Solutions will work with customers to design carbon removal portfolios tailored to specific compliance frameworks and requirements. The company combines carbon removal sourcing, market expertise, rigorous due diligence, and policy insights to help organizations identify and procure suitable carbon removals with confidence.

“Organizations are increasingly asking us how to navigate a rapidly evolving policy landscape and which carbon removals fit specific compliance requirements,” said Adrian Siegrist, Chief Commercial Officer at Climeworks. “This offering builds on our existing portfolio expertise by combining carbon removal sourcing with policy and market knowledge, helping customers procure high-quality carbon removals aligned with relevant frameworks and requirements.”

For more than 17 years, Climeworks has helped pioneer the carbon removal market, working alongside policymakers, standard setters, and industry partners to develop methodologies, standards, and market best practices. Climeworks Solutions builds on that experience to help customers navigate increasing policy complexity while maintaining the highest standards of quality and integrity.

Climeworks Solutions is initially focusing on several policy frameworks where demand for carbon removals is emerging:

·       ICAO CORSIA Removals

Designed for airlines seeking access to carbon removal credits to meet their CORSIA obligations.

·       Article 6.2 ITMO Removals

Provides access to carbon removal credits transferred under Article 6.2 bilateral agreements, supporting organizations that require internationally transferred mitigation outcomes (ITMOs) for specific compliance and claims-related use cases.

·       EU CRCF Carbon Removals

Provides access to carbon removals certified under the European Union's Carbon Removal and Carbon Farming Certification Framework (CRCF). CRCF certification creates a recognized and regulated quality framework for carbon removals in Europe and has been proposed by the European Commission as the certification framework underpinning the proposed integration of permanent removals into the EU ETS.

As carbon removal policies continue to develop, Climeworks Solutions plans to expand its compliance-ready offering to support additional frameworks and jurisdictions.

The launch reflects a broader shift in the carbon removal market. While demand has historically been driven primarily by voluntary corporate climate commitments, organizations are increasingly evaluating carbon removals through the lens of policy and compliance requirements as new frameworks emerge around the world.
