Remove CO₂ permanently and accelerate the scale-up
Contribute to the scale-up of our direct air capture technology while permanently removing CO₂ from the air. 100% of your money goes toward CO₂ removal in your name, and you can update, pause or cancel anytime.

Removing CO₂ from the air
Direct air capture supports nature by scaling CO₂ removal
Trees are critical in the fight against climate change for their ability to remove CO₂ from the atmosphere. However, as land space is limited, we also need solutions like direct air capture. On 0.42 acres, our Orca plant can capture up to 4000 tons of CO₂ from the air annually.
Fight climate change with direct air capture
The science is clear: to keep global warming below 1.5°C, we need both drastic emissions reductions and carbon dioxide removal. At Climeworks, we’ve developed an innovative technology called “direct air capture” to remove historic and unavoidable CO₂ from the air, so it can no longer contribute to climate change. In collaboration with Carbfix, our CO₂ storage partner in Iceland, we provide high-quality carbon dioxide removal that’s permanent, measurable, and scalable.
Climeworks operates the world's first commercial large-scale DAC plants.

Scalable
What has the progress been so far for scale-up?
Since Climeworks’ founding in 2009, we’ve reached several significant milestones in the scale-up of our direct air capture (DAC) technology. We built the very first commercial DAC plant in 2017, followed by the world’s largest DAC + storage plant, Orca, in 2021, which removes thousands of tons of CO₂ per year. In 2024, we unveiled Mammoth, the newest and largest DAC+S plant with capacity to remove tens of thousands of tons annually. Learn more.
How long does it take to remove the CO₂?
In line with our plants' operation schedules, CO₂ removal orders are carried out within 6 years. That means 6 years from your one-off order, or 6 years from each monthly subscription order. You’ll receive confirmation of delivery via email once this happens. Your contribution today helps to scale-up our technology. In the future, we aim to deliver CO₂ removal much faster at a significantly lower cost.
Do I get some sort of certificate?
Yes, you do! You’ll find your CO₂ removal order confirmation in your account as a PDF document, which shows the amount ordered in your name. No one else can stake a claim to that amount. Once the CO₂ removal has been performed on your behalf, you'll receive a CDR services delivery note, as per our Terms & Conditions.
Can I deduct the subscription from tax?
A direct purchase of Climeworks carbon dioxide removal services isn’t tax-deductible because Climeworks provides a service in return for payment and is not a charitable organization. However, U.S. taxpayers can donate to Terraset, a 501c3 nonprofit, to make a tax-deductible donation here. More information on Terraset and the partnership with Climeworks can be found here.
