Your mission

Job description
  • Your mission at Climeworks is to manage our Collector Container (Climeworks’ proprietary direct air capture machine) suppliers effectively, ensuring stability for future large-scale projects while expanding our portfolio with top-notch suppliers.
  • You lead and shape an expanding team of Category Managers towards Excellence. 
  • You own the supply chain for timely, quality and cost-effective procurement of the Collector container and its sub-assemblies which includes steel structures and related commodities.
  • You optimize the existing supply chain to ensure the best quality and costs. 
  • You set up an international supplier network, mainly in the U.S. and Europe, to enable global delivery for both low volume fast turnaround prototyping and high-volume manufacturing serial production. Experience in capital equipment procurement is a plus.
  • You are responsible for the onboarding of best-in-class suppliers to bring existing technology further and ensure scale-up.
  • You determine the best procurement strategy (make v buy) for assembly and sub-assemblies and collaborate with Product & Manufacturing Engineers.

Your story

Requirements
  • You hold a university degree in a technical field or equivalent – Engineering, Business or Supply Chain.
  • You have at least 10 years of experience in Strategic Procurement in final assembly, steel construction, manufacturing, mechanical engineering, or comparable industry, and you have long-term experience in managing strategic categories, such as steel constructions and assembly services (integrators).
  • You possess deep technical knowledge and understanding of processes, and you are experienced in working at an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) with assembly and test operations.
  • You have excellent contracting and negotiation skills in complex agreements and knowledge of the interrelationships between the individual disciplines in plant construction.
  • You can easily lead suppliers and internal stakeholders tightly according to Climeworks goals, and you can assert yourself if necessary.
  • You have great analytic and methodical skills and can coordinate interdisciplinary tasks while being focused and knowing how to re-arrange priorities in a very dynamic environment.
  • You love to work in a team and thrive in an international team setting.
  • You are business fluent in English and have profound communication skills.
  • Travel is expected and a minimum of 3 days a week on-site.
