Your mission
Job description
Your mission at Climeworks is to support the testing and evaluation of sorbent materials for direct air capture to ensure compliance with quality standards.
You are part of an integrated team performing lab-based characterizations, including CO2 adsorption behavior and chemical stability.
You support analytical method development and validation activities for characterizing porous particle/powders.
You work independently on tasks to understand properties of sorbent materials, improve analytical methods, and investigate root causes for non-conforming products.
You validate, troubleshoot, and document the work you do clearly to communicate to others at Climeworks in the context of larger projects.
Your story
Requirements
You have completed your apprenticeship in chemistry OR your bachelor’s and/or working towards a master’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or related field.
You are available for a 6-month internship with start date preferably in August/September 2025.
You enjoy working hands-on in the laboratory, and you have some classroom or other experience with any of the following: characterization of porous materials (BET, Hg porosimetry, TGA, etc.), adsorption characterization (breakthrough testing, DVS, etc.), wet chemistry.
Familiarity with quality control is beneficial but not required.
You are reliable, motivated and eager to learn new concepts, skills, and tools that you might need to complete your assignments.
You are solution-oriented concise and cooperative, with a structured working style.
You are fluent in English; knowledge of German or other languages is beneficial but not required.

What we offer:
At Climeworks, our six-month internships offer a hybrid work setup, giving you flexibility while ensuring valuable collaboration by working onsite at least three days per week. To maintain fairness, we follow a standardized salary process based on market benchmarks. For our internships based in Switzerland, the compensation is:
During BSc & MSc: CHF 2,000 per month
After completion of MSc: CHF 2,500 per month
