Climeworks removes CO₂ from the air to fight global warming and protect future generations to come.
We develop, build and operate direct air capture (DAC) machines which capture CO₂ directly from the air. The captured carbon dioxide is removed from the air by safely storing it underground, permanently.
Founded in 2009 by engineers, Christoph Gebald and Jan Wurzbacher, Climeworks was built with a mission to inspire 1 billion people to remove CO₂ from the air, and is now spearheading the DAC industry globally. It has the world’s largest DAC facility and storage installation in operation and a team of over 300 Climeworkers determined to contribute to a net-zero future.

Job description
- Your mission at Climeworks is to pioneer and optimize accounts payable processes, ensuring operational efficiency and supporting growth. Collaborate closely with accounting leadership to enhance strategy, maintain financial integrity, and guide team excellence. Embrace challenges in a high-growth environment dedicated to combating global warming.
- You pioneer the management and optimization of accounts payable processes to support our company's growth and operational efficiency. Ensure the timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments, maintaining precise and comprehensive financial records.
- You collaborate closely with the Head of Accounting to enhance the strategic direction and operational execution of the accounts payable function. Contribute to the development and implementation of scalable accounting solutions that facilitate our company's international expansion.
- You assume full responsibility for the financial integrity of accounts payable within your purview. Play a pivotal role in the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accurate reflection of accounts payable and accrual activities.
- You continuously evaluate and refine accounts payable processes to increase efficiency, accuracy, and compliance. Implement best practices and leverage technology to streamline operations.
- You guide and mentor the accounts payable team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- You make strategic decisions regarding the treatment of accounts payables and receivables, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
Your story
Requirements
- You completed an accounting degree or qualification.
- You are a self-starter who appreciates flat hierarchies and the opportunity to shape the development of accounting as a key pillar of the finance function.
- You want to challenge yourself in a high-growth environment and learn about an emerging industry dedicated to fighting global warming.
- You have a proven record of leading Accounts Payable in a fast-paced company.
- You are comfortable working in an international environment with daily interactions in English and German, with any other language being a plus.
